LBIC

The system LBIC (Light beam induced current) measures short circuit current at five different wave lengths. The wave lengths are selected in a way that in the spectrum measured a high sensitivity for changes of the diffusion length which take place in multicristalline solar cells is given. An measurement of a reference cell enables the identification of the external quantum efficiency (EQE) locally for each wave length. In addition to that the direct and the diffuse reflection from the surface of the solar cell is measured locally. Based on these data the internal quantum efficiency (IQE) is calculated.
